When I was 15 I told myself “you’ll figure it out eventually.” When I was 16, I told myself “school isn’t everything.” When I was 17, I told myself “you probably won’t even graduate.” Then at 18, I told myself “you are better than that.” “You are smart and deserve good things.” When I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, I dug my way through until I found it. One year ago my parents advised me to drop out of high school to find a job, because then I would at least be doing something with myself. I told them “please be patient” because I knew somewhere along the way I would figure it out – and I did. One year later, I have an 82% average, and I was just accepted into Wilfred Laurier University. This is only the first of my acceptance letters. It is never too late to go after what you want. It is never too late to change your life around. It is never too late to become a better version of yourself.
